Christopher Raiche stopped teaching philosophy and religion in his mid-twenties to form “guitarmusic,” the alias under which he writes and performs his contemplative and passionately sung songs. A collection of introspective home-recordings he calls “happy death songs” is up for a listen at his myspace, www.myspace.com/christopherraiche . He recently moved to Brooklyn in Fall 2008, after living on the side of a mountain, next to a creek in western North Carolina. He is now searching out musicians to form a
guitarmusic band/ensemble in order to explore the full range and emotional potential of his songs. If you play an instrument and can hear it in his music, he would love to talk with you. guitarmusic’s debut show in New York was at the Mercury Lounge, and the newly forming band hopes to continue playing out regularly and in varied settings throughout the city. We shall see what is to come. Hope to see you there! – a.b.
