Tim Noyes began writing songs at the age of nineteen in his freshman dorm room. Most of these songs were written about different friends in his building and featured one chord. He played exactly one show throughout his four years at college.
After graduation, Noyes moved to New York City to teach English in the Bronx. He started writing better songs, most of which featured more than one chord. In 2008 he formed Aunt Martha, the band in which he currently sings and plays guitar.
In July of 2009, Aunt Martha released its debut album entitled “Candymaker.” which draws from the band’s folk, country and pop influences. The band completed it first tour in support of the record, and is currently playing throughout New York and the Northeast.
